CREATIVE EXPRESSION AND PERSONAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME FOR CHALLENGING YOUNG PEOPLE BEING NEET OR AT RISK OF BEING NEET.
Creative Expression has linked up with Cornwall Council to create an effective support programme for children with severe communication and personal management problems and their carers.
It will offer youngsters, who struggle with educational settings and sociably acceptable interaction, ways to understand their personal information processing, to express and to communicate their needs and to regain confidence in learning, interacting and 'belonging'. The programme will engage the youngsters in creative thinking using holistic, non-linear processing formats (Footnotes©), creative expression and innovative interaction. It creates fast and tangible changes in self esteem, self perception, academic ability and attitudes.
The most severely disaffected of participants, and those who struggle with underlying mental health issues and traumas, will be supported through therapeutic methods, ether in one-to-one or small group sessions.
The programme is designed to build on existing expertise while enhancing creative management tools for the participating case workers and carers. Both non-accredited and accredited activities are part of this project.
This work is partly funded and therefore available at subsidised prices/free.
The program is available as NPTC Entry level Award in Skills for working life (QCF) Entry 2 and 3.
